I figured I would post some pics of my engine that blew up..I know its sad. But I did just get done putting my new engine in, so there is good news...but anyway take a look.

the front of the block

the back of the block, if you look real close you can see the remains of one of my connecting rods hanging in there...

one of the belts fried, my timing belt also had a few teeth ripped off.

lol that last picture looks like the wrist pin that holds the piston to the connecting rod... how the fuck did that get into the oil pan?

your right EclipseRST, that is the wrist pin, and that chunk of metal is the end of the connecting rod that it goes through. The connecting rod is still connected to the crank, I havent found the piston yet, it is laying in there somewhere though. I dont know exactly why it blew up, I wasnt even driving it when it happened, I was in the car though. It blew in 2nd gear at about 2800 rpms.

lol I had the same thoughts. The car blew up and layed a block and a half streak of oil, we rolled into a parking lot, I got out and as sad as it was I couldnt do anything but laugh, especially when I got the block out and took a good look at it.

That's nuts!!! Only 2800 RPM's when it blew??? I wonder what went wrong???
