cold air intake?GASE 95 05-18-2004, 01:16 PM can anyone tell me where to find cold air intakes for a 95 Grand Am, 2.3L, 4 cylinder? landyacht 05-18-2004, 01:26 PM Your best bet of finding something like that would be going to your dealership's parts department. They'll have the best availablity other then trying out part source dot com. Go search for cavis or sunfires with the 2.3L and if they have an intake for that model then it will fit your nbody. other wise buy a prelude or civic intake off ebay and fab up one with the parts. GASE 95 05-19-2004, 10:07 AM aright thanks..just out of curiosity, would a cold air intake for a 2.4 work on a 2.3? (as you can tell i really dont know much about engine work..ive only done bodys) shark2000 05-19-2004, 12:44 PM GRANDAMLD9 05-20-2004, 08:35 PM http://www.andysautosport.com/performance/pontiac_99grandam.html http://www.doctorspeed.com/products/cai/index.html I made my own with PVC. he doesnt have a 99+ nor does he have a v6 I would just got with a civic intake of ebay and make that work. shark2000 05-21-2004, 12:45 AM Sorry, my bad. I was in a hurry when I read the post. http://cold-air-intake.domain4auction.com/ These are e-bay listings. Allanon1313 05-22-2004, 11:45 PM could i just buy an air filter at say autozone, take out my filter box and rig up tubing, or is there more to it? Markgase2000 05-23-2004, 01:20 AM Yes you can rig up tubing and fabricate almost any filter size on your engine but I learned some facts about k&n that you should be aware of. It will cause the mass airflow sensor to get gummed up and will eventually burnem out if you dont clean them say every oil change. Both gumming up and burning out will cause the engine to run lean or rich. If its gummed it wont set off the Check Engine Light till it burns out the coils so it can run lean or rich without you really knowing and diminish horsepower. So if you go with a k&n, cold air intake or ram air intake you may want to check those lil coils in the mass air flow sensor regularily to ensure it runs optimal air/fuel rarios. shark2000 05-23-2004, 03:26 AM Thanks for that info. I will check it when I change my oil in about 300 miles. I'm guessing I could just use carb & choke cleaner for that. Allanon1313 05-23-2004, 01:09 PM anyone know where i can fine the tubing for an intake? i know our autozone has the filters, not sure if they have the tubing. And where is best to route the intake to? my filter box has intakes from behind the left headlight and down below. should i jsut put the cold air filter where the filter box was?or find a way to rig it behind the headlight? second, whats the little pipe/hose that comes from on near the engine to connect with the air filter hose? is it just a place for the air to travel to the engine or what? And this link has links to some of those civic CAI on e-bay. http://cold-air-intake.domain4auction.com/ Good Luck. Markgase2000 05-24-2004, 11:16 AM Measure what diameters what bends and length your gonna need and fine some pvc in a hard ware or plumbing store. You could build a 250 dollar kit for 20 bucks if your clever. Allanon1313 05-24-2004, 10:22 PM but will pvc actually work? just as good as the metal ones online? shark2000 05-25-2004, 05:10 AM but will pvc actually work? just as good as the metal ones online? I noticed a difference with mine. It's not so nice looking, but it works. Sounds really cool too. You can see mine on my web site. I have a V6 though. Cost me only about $20. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
