I own a '99 300M, and was wondering if anyone could help me locate a diagram or give me any information about the exhaust. I was thinking about putting an a Cat-back exhaust on it, to try something new, but can't find anything on it.

I went to a muffler shop and asked about removing the middle muffler or resonator and the guy says it won't give you any more power unless you gut your cats too. I was actually just thinking of making it a tad louder and getting some more flow. I just got my 300M two weeks ago, I am coming from a 98 Ram with the 5.9, which I modded with roller rockers, headers, cat-back exhaust, CAI, performance chip, etc. All those mods together made my truck haul. My 98 stock muffler was huge and it's high flow replacement probably only gave me a handful of hp by itself. Looking under the car for the first time I could not believe it, aside from the cats on each exhaust manifold bank there is 3 mufflers and or resonators. Seems excessive to me. I love the car, not gonna put money into it like I did with my ram, course the aftermarket isn't there for it anyhu. I will just put the standard K&N air filter in and call it good, unless Superchips has something for it that produces some good hp #'s :iceslolan

I have almost the same car (LHS). I m not an expert, but I heard the 3 mufflers under the car arn't mufflers, but resonators that are there to silence the exhaust...since it s a businessman / luxury car the target buyer likes it to be silent.

I also wanted to make it louder...with a deep loud sound almost like a big a... SUV. If you don't know well how to replace exhaust parts yourself, you better let a mechanic doing it for you.

Unfortunately, Superchips doesn't make an application for Chrysler LH cars, (Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler Concorde, Chrysler LHS, Chrysler 300M). I checked their website and their still in the process of making on. They don't even have one yet for the Dodge Neon SRT-4.
