Starter?alilcrabby2 05-17-2004, 02:00 PM I have a 1970 Monte Carlo, and it runs great. Sometimes, when I turn off the car, it won't start back up...but after a little while it usually starts. It's been happening more since the weather has gotten warmer. I checked the voltage, and it's getting good voltage, so that's not the problem. When it doesn't start, the lights still come on pretty brightly, and the connections are decent. I was thinking maybe it was a hot starter problem? Any thoughts? Thanks. bdriggs 06-25-2004, 04:21 PM i have a 95 thats doing the same thing did you find out whats the deal? alilcrabby2 07-02-2004, 11:50 AM I got a starter heatshield for the car and a new starter from NAPA with a lifetime warranty. The old starter was very cheap and it shows. Since I put the new starter in, it has worked great - it has started right up, and I can start it up again and again (even if I leave it running for a while). alilcrabby2 07-02-2004, 11:51 AM Oh yeah, I also replaced the battery cables - one of the grounds was not in great shape, but I don't think that that was the problem, but I figured as long as I'm doing one I might as well do the other. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
