Spark Plug Gap

Can anyone tell me the spark plug gap for a 2001 Intrigue 3.5 liter and how to go about changing them? This engine has no spark plug wires visible.

I believe that the gap is suppost to be .050", but don't quote me. It's either that or .045". I just replaced mine with OEM AC Delco plugs that were actually NGK's. As far as where they are, they are under the coil packs on each valve cover. Just remove the 6 or so bolts and that hold the module down, and remove it exposing the boots and plugs. By the way, the dealers recomend platinum plugs, if that is essential or not. And be sure to shop around, they are expensive.

I had a long conversation with an auto parts dealer where he convinced me that I should only use the AC DELCO OEM spark plugs for Oldsmobile vehicles because the car will not run as well otherwise. After buying them from the GM dealer I was surprised to see that they were NGK plugs in the box. Go figure?

My Chilton's manual shows 0.060 for all of the engine's used in 1999 and 2000 for the W body including the 3.5L.

The 3.5L plugs should be gapped at .050". The 3800 V6 gap spec is .060". Look on EPA emissions sticker under the hood. I put standard Bosch Platinum 4205 plugs in gapped @ .050" and there's no noticable difference in performance between these or the stock NGKs.
