Performance Shift Button Question

How I can check if my Performance Shift Button is working fine?. The Performance Shift Light appears on my information center, but i feel no power like before when I push the performance shift button. Please help, im confused...

Well the performance shift doesnt add power it gust makes the car shift at a higher RPM if its on then the car will shirt at 4000 RPM at normal driving.If you want to check it just push the gas normal and if it shifts at 4000 its ok,and do the same with it off,Take off from a red light and it should shift sooner.Now theres no sence it driving with the perfomance shift on the highway or going high speeds because you are in a higher gear.

is it only gtp with performance shift buttons?

I was making a few tests of performance shift button and with or without performance shift the trans shifts at the same RPM's, i think something is wrong. I have a tranny cooler installed (i think this is not the problem), and i have 235/55R16. Since i put the 235/55R16 i feel my car different, like no power, and in the track was poor times. I think im going back to 225/60R16 stock tire size.

Suggestions about Performance Shift and Tire Size?

Yes only the gtp have the performance button,its really no big deal when its on it shifts alot harder,you can feel the shirt points,rather with it off it shirts nice and smooth,you really dont feel any kick when it shifts[at normal driving].Well moshimo it might be the tires I think these are wider tires you put on.But whenever you put a different tire size tire its going to change the calibration with the speedometer as well.You might want to check the switch for the performance shift button.I dont know but when they messed with the tranny they might have loosend the wire connecting to the button or somthing like that.But if it was only that easy.HA!

I was checking the wiring diag of 97 GTP, and i think if the performance shift button doesn't work, the performance shift light on my driver information center doesn't work too!. Or im wrong?.

i see my car shifts from 1st to 2nd at 5800, from 2nd to 3rd at 5400 and 3rd to 4th gear at 5000 or less... with performance shift button on!
