Yesterday i went to the mechanic shop and they installed the tranny cooler for my 97 gtp. I have noticed the tranny is too close (too close, too close), to the a/c condensor. This kind of installation doesn't affect to my a/c or engine temp or tranny temp... What do you recommend?. See the pics above.

This is the proper location for the cooler. The tranny cooler works just like the AC Condensor or the radiator in transferring heat by using air to absorb it. You will probably notice some decreased temperatures in the transmission and as long as you keep the fins clean there should be absolutely no change in the engine temp or the air conditioning and your transmission will live considerably longer.

where did you want them to put it?

Yes, that's the correct place. But i think maybe i need an extra fan in front of my tranny cooler because here are 110-120 Farenheits. Too hot!... I live on the hell. Here the cars can't use 160 tstat, anyone.

If you click here http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/local/MXBC0004?lswa=WeatherLocalUndeclared&lswe=mexicali you can see the weather on my city. Check this, and isn't hot yet.!!!!!

Thanks...

why cant you use 160 Tstat?

and your Tranny Cooler is fine....no problems no additional fans needed.

The temps here are incredible. The cars turns hot and the 160 tstat stills open all the time (no time to keep cold the engine). Really, here is too hot.!!

so im still confused....If your Thermo is open all the time your engine is constantly cooling down....

Stop and go Driving your engine should heat up normail until your fans turn on....but highway driving it will cool your engine down alot!

You aren't going to accomplish much by adding an additional fan. If you need additional cooling for your car you might want to lay out some cash for a larger radiator, which will give you more coolant and more surface area to get rid of the additional heat. There are also some additives on the market today that promise to decrease the operating temperature of the engine, up to 50 degrees by increasing the thermal conductivity of the coolant by reducing the surface tension of the coolant already present in the system. You can find out where to by it by contacting VP Racing at 210-635-7744. I have never used this but they guarantee it!

As long as you keep the fins clean you should have no problem at all. But if you still feel bothered by the cooler beeing to close to the condenser then you can go to a machine shop to build for you a bracket like the one used on the dessert fox tranny cooler.
