Hello,

I have a 1985 accord lx in great shape. It is a four door sedan 1.8 L. Whenever I engage the car, i.e. take it out of park and put it into drive or take it out of reverse and into drive, it makes a funny noise. Although, if I change from D4 to D3 or vice-versa it doesn't make the noise. It doesn't seem to be anything serious, but I would like to fix it. The noise is fairly subtle, but definitely still noticeable. Any ideas what it is? Is it a tranny prob or something smaller??? Please reply here or email me at leefoley@comcast.net. I also found out that the noise occurs when you take it out of reverse and put it into drive, but NOT when you go driectly from park to drive. HELP PLEASE

Thanks,

Lee

Hey,

Thanks for the reply. Good to know I still have a lot of life left in the car, it really is a pretty good car.

Thanks again Jake01,

Lee

could be CV joints or motor mounts.

Use your Parkin brake n it should ease the noise. By doin this your takin the pressure off the lokin mech when your in park. My old 84 Accord did that.
