ok so is it bad to do the whole downshifting thing #1 without reving to match rpms? and #2 to do it without braking at the same time and just hit the brake after u downshift?

Hold the brake down AS you downshift

Have wide feet comes in handy, too....

You can buy aftermarket pedals that extend closer together... But you don't really need wide feet even without the pedals.
