Save up for a JDM Conversion or spend the money on engine mods?TSRyder6 05-08-2004, 04:06 PM I'm getting the GReddy Kit, so I got some mods to the engine done! I wanna give my car a unique and nice look...JDM Front End is nice...should i save up and get it or spend money on more "under the Hood" mods?? Tranzlogic 05-08-2004, 04:24 PM ummm what kind fo car is it first ?? TSRyder6 05-08-2004, 04:26 PM its a 98 GSR TSRyder6 05-08-2004, 08:46 PM i went to couple of sites and it offers the conversion in OEM Metal and Fiberglass...which one is better? And are they refering to the front bumper or something else? Ricochet 05-08-2004, 08:49 PM Hook up the engine. Nothing is worse (to me) than an all-show, no-go ricer. You have a great engine to mod so do that first :) Tranzlogic 05-10-2004, 12:29 PM andyautosport.com offers a couple good lookin JDM conversions , ..but i am kinda with ricochet ..you dont really wanna have a flashy car that cant move to par scallywag 05-10-2004, 01:00 PM ya but he has will have a turbo so it will have some go. Depending on what is more important to you it is up to you. The jdm front looks bad A, I almost did one myself. If you get one, DO NOT get a fiberglass one, fiberglass is crap, will not handle the abuse metal will, will fall apart eventually, and depending on the color will not match well with paint on door panel. jcrx 05-10-2004, 02:14 PM If you want a JDM front end conversipon, then buy a JDM front end conversion. Don't get some ghey as fuck, cheap EbayDM crap "JDM" bodykit. error54 05-13-2004, 04:05 AM A fiberglass front is nice but not on a daily driver. Can't take the abuse the same as stock. kicker1_solo 05-13-2004, 04:16 AM Why do you want us to decide what you're gonna do to your car? It's yours, do what you want out of it. jcrx 05-13-2004, 12:17 PM Why do you want us to decide what you're gonna do to your car? It's yours, do what you want out of it. You know, we really should start taking advantage of this, we can have everyone that ask for our popinions driving around in cars we like, maybe then we can get some of this crap that's rolling around off the streets. Crippy 05-13-2004, 12:49 PM get the jdm kit , a gsr moves quite well in stock form , just dont go out of your league when racing ... remember , you can only race some times , but you can ALWAYS look good !! Jszy 05-13-2004, 02:46 PM crippy answer your emails kicker1_solo 05-13-2004, 07:12 PM You know, we really should start taking advantage of this, we can have everyone that ask for our popinions driving around in cars we like, maybe then we can get some of this crap that's rolling around off the streets. great idea. definately go for the looks so I can still have a car that's faster than most. :D Zanark 05-13-2004, 07:48 PM this dude has a 98 GSR? Pshhh dog do the main bolt ons and get your front end done. You dont need much shit under the hood with the Vtec engine. Dont turbo charge a B18C man if you gonna modity it Do some internal work. So get it the way you want it to look first cause its already (quick) enough Partizan 05-17-2004, 09:26 PM Quick enough? Define this... lol. I say if you've got the turbo and some other mods you might as well do the JDM conversion but make sure you don't stop on the engine mods. Exterior is not an alternative to engine mods. silver bullet LS 10-29-2004, 09:08 AM yup i agree with zanark, cuz your GSR is already quick, or u cant go on with a turbo or leave it all motor. Booth is nice, won't your do it all out have a jdm itr metal front with motor work. Now thats the beast roaming the street. silver bullet LS 10-29-2004, 09:16 AM well i have a sorry 2001 teg ls, I got a long way to go tho. Plus its automatic, i know im going to spend atleast over 10k on my car in and out. I want to go all out, get a b18c5 motor set up/with lsd tranny, maybe boost it up, and have a type r conversion metal with metalic statan silver paint job, and shave of the side molding at mob works in oc. If i really want go all out even more i can get a 5 lugs conversion....damn!! fixing a tyte car can loose u an arm and a leg. Lucky im getting my degree next falls and get my career going. so i can get my skyline gtr blue. 97integrals 10-30-2004, 02:09 PM this dude has a 98 GSR? Pshhh dog do the main bolt ons and get your front end done. You dont need much shit under the hood with the Vtec engine. Dont turbo charge a B18C man if you gonna modity it Do some internal work. So get it the way you want it to look first cause its already (quick) enough You can never be quick enough! You guys are acting like a GSR is the ultimate performance car. A germ with main bolt ons is not fast, but I guess that depends on what your definition of fast is. (14-15 secs. in the 1/4, not fast) everyone could use a turbo! Please don't make your car look faster than it is! Get boost build the engine then get the conversion. Also maybe if you are not really concerned about being carb legal get a different kit than the Greddy. The greddy kit has got to be one of the worst turbo kits on the market! Good for smog, bad for horsepower. Look at Turbonetics, Drag, Full race or have a custom kit designed. But this is just my opinion take it or leave it. silver bullet LS 11-05-2004, 06:20 PM Yea your gsr is koo, so if you have turbo on it too, then that's even better! You guys let him do what he likes, cuz the jdm front is tyte yo. Yea go with the metal fender, cuz it look better when painted, and it protect your engine more effectively from collision. Make sure you shave your side molding also, so it can look like type R. Good luck and update us on your ride. Im going to do that too, first getting my turbo then itr conversion. peace tomsindahizouse 11-11-2004, 09:40 PM do what ever you want to your car. The term poser, means to impress, so now you should go back to your room so your mom doesnt yell at you, and when you can start making your own decisions about your car you can come out. Until then your grounded. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
