Hey yall. I gotta 90 celica gt hatchback with a 5sfe engine.
Its not real fast but not the slowest thing out ther.
I saw a friggin' WRX that was blowing flames out the muffler... what is this from?
And also, would my car ever beat a wrx? How much work would i have to put into it?
Should I just buy a wrx???

you are not going to beat a turbo wrx with the 5sfe engine unless you put more money into that engine then it would be to just buy one (sarcasm for the most part)...so if you have enough money to do that i dont even know why you bought the celica...pretty cars but iffy performance engines..and the fire is just a kit you can buy

you could beat one....but you would have to do an engine swap

what kind of enine swap?
A 3sgte, i think, is old and unreliable. Or is it? If i do get a swap, with tranny, what would i need to beat a wrx... this is my personal goal!

you would most likely end of doing the 3sgte swap its very reliable when done right and if you have it rebuilt you can add some performance parts to it like a fornt mount intercooler and some performance cams and ehxuast system and the right tunning with upgraded air flow and fuel flow with say msd ignitions...you might be able to hang with one...only if you had the all wheel drive tranny to go with it though
