ls/vtec stroker-----Turbo'edJszy 05-07-2004, 04:32 PM I wanna hear peoples comments on the idea of an ls/vtec with a stroker kit in it to bump up displacement(internals being built) and then adding a T03/T04 turbo kit to it running in the area of 12-15 psi of boost. Oh, and also a complete hondata engine management system to run things properly. Good things, bad things---just everyones comments. I think that this would be the king of the street if it could actually run correctly, but i am sure that there are many reasons why this setup might not be able to exist so I want to hear them. Jszy 05-07-2004, 04:32 PM jcrx, eckoman_pdx I wanna hear from you guys. boosted331 05-07-2004, 04:43 PM Stroker kits are useless, you can make more torque than you will ever be able to use on a street car with a stock stroke, and it will save you a lot of dough. If you want some more displacement, get the motor sleeved to 84MM and then you have more displacement, it will cost less to get it sleeved rather than running a larget stroke, plus larger stroke means worse rod/stroke ratio, which will become an issue when you're running a 95MM stroke and still want to spin the motor. What kind of a T3/T4 are you planning on running. Jszy 05-07-2004, 05:46 PM I see what your saying, so the stroker will end up doing more bad then good. I am not exactly planning on doing this setup...more of an idea so I dont really have the turbo planned out yet, but probably a Garret t3/t4 boosted331 05-07-2004, 08:11 PM I see what your saying, so the stroker will end up doing more bad then good. I am not exactly planning on doing this setup...more of an idea so I dont really have the turbo planned out yet, but probably a Garret t3/t4 If you want a sick setup on the street, here is what I would do. Benson Sleeved, 84MM bore Wiseco Flat Tops Crower Rods Fully ported head, CTR cams, portflow valvespring/retainer package VictorX intake Full-Race AC manifold PTE GT35E, .63 A/R Stg V exhaust 3" downpipe to 3" exhaust with a resonator PTE 750HP intercooler Hondata/AEM/Whatever GSR or ITR/B16/CTR trans with a quaiffe The high compression will give great boost response and mid range power, you'll still make 400+ WHP on pump gas which is way more than you need, and the motor will run very strong on race gas too. Tranzlogic 05-08-2004, 12:20 PM ummmm, i dont know about all that bro Tranzlogic 05-08-2004, 12:26 PM getting that high in power production lies on how much boost you are running and the build and tune you have to support it ! hints a complete fuel system and injectors which you didnt mention, i mean i could go aout and buy everything you just said ( which i wouldnt ) and without a massave ammount of boost and complete fuel and tune i wouldnt get anywhere near that 400 "WHP" that you said. and why compare a b16 trans to that of a itr ..2 totally diff trans and the b16 has shorter gearing which you wouldnt want IF you had a choice about it not dicking, just tryin to figure the logic out boosted331 05-08-2004, 05:24 PM hints a complete fuel system and injectors which you didnt mention, i mean i could go aout and buy everything you just said ( which i wouldnt ) and without a massave ammount of boost and complete fuel and tune i wouldnt get anywhere near that 400 "WHP" that you said. Would you like me to list all the fittings, lines, washers, screws, nuts, and hoses he's going to need too? It's a general list, sorry if I didn't list everything he's going to need. and why compare a b16 trans to that of a itr ..2 totally diff trans and the b16 has shorter gearing which you wouldnt want IF you had a choice about it not dicking, just tryin to figure the logic out  B16 and ITR's have the exact same gearing, except the ITR has an LSD.
