black plastic bumpers small scratchesrgilbert24 05-06-2004, 12:36 AM On the bottom portion of the my black plastic bumpers I had numerous small white (very thin) scratches and nicks. Rather than try and compound them out, which often isn't succesful on plastic bumpers, I used a black permanent marker with a fine point to touch them up. Worked like magic! Its not glossy like paint but for underneath you can hardly notice unless you are looking very closely. Certainly better than the white marks. Anyone else tried that? Also if you are trying to get marks out of the clear coat on bumpers - like on top of the bumper - anyone have a method that works well. I do not have the success on bumpers with compounds etc. that I do on painted metal. BullShifter 05-07-2004, 12:18 AM I use markers too, to bad it's only a temp fix. It's nice that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb unlike touch-up paint(very noticeable) rgilbert24 05-07-2004, 12:30 AM So the "permanent" marker will eventually wear off? BullShifter 05-07-2004, 12:42 AM :iceslolan after about 2 weeks, that's 2 washes for me. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
