Hi. I just bought a 1994 Pathfinder, and I was trying to put my stereo in it.. The factory radio worked when I bought it (all the speakers functioned), but when I unplugged the factory deck and put in my CD player, nothing worked. I hooked up a 9 volt battery to each of the speaker wires at the deck, and theres no crackling or anything from the speakers! It's like someone unplugged all of the speaker wires from the speakers all of a sudden. Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong? Is there some kind of plug somewhere? I don't want to have to rewire everything myself.. That's a lot of work. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

I have a 94 and I changed out the factory stereo and all speakers about 3 yrs ago. I put in a Blaupnukt w/ Cerwin Vega Speakers. I remember I had to buy a plug to connect to the factory wire harness and then cut the connectors to the speakers and add my own connectors -- then I had to put in a manual switch for my electric antenna, so that I could bring down the antenna without having to turn off the unit (ie offroad or having the CD on and wantig the antenna down) I put my switch on the center console right by the alarm switch - looks great - like factory install switch. Also the Blau - faceplate fit PERFECTLY in place of the factory stereo -- IT ALL looks Factory. I used the 5x6 speakers (4) and the factory door speaker covers are still in place, on the rear ceiling - I had to get deeper speaker covers and pad the speaker magnet so it didnt hit the body metal of the rear ceiling.

Here is a cite that might help you --- honestly I would to take mine out to remember the wiring - I didnt know about this web site when I did my chnage out - and I do remember that burned up my Emergency light button because I accidentaly wired the antenna to it - that was I think a $40.00 mistake.

Thanks for the help. The problem was that there's a factory amp in 1994 Pathfinders, and I had to hook up power to the the pink amp power wire in order to get a signal to the speakers. I am happy to report that everything is fine now, and my truck pounds! Problem solved.. :)

Good -- electrical problems are no fun.

Oh actually I had burned up my dimmer switch not the emergency switch during my install - in a hurry or was paying attention. Other then that it was night and day in comparison to the factory system.

Im looking for info on changing my starter - this change out will make going on starter #3. the first 2 where Nissan - Im getting a local Auto Zone - lifetimer.
