SES Light...

Okay, I was on my way to work yesterday and my SES light came on. The car has not been acting up, making any funny noises, or anything. And it wasn't because the gas cap wasn't tightened because it had been a couple days since I put gas in the car. I parked the car when I got to work, didn't drive it again until I got off work six hours later. Drove it approximately 3 miles to a friend's house, spent the night there, drove it less than a mile home this morning to change clothes, then drove it back to that friend's house to pick them up. I left the car running when I got back over there to go in and tell him to come on, and when I got back in it after it running for oh...6-7 minutes, the SES light was off.

Now, I'm thinking about taking my car and having it checked out anyway, even though the light went off...or should I just not worry about it unless the light comes back on? My theory is that SOMETHING made that light come on, and things don't usually fix themselves.

Take the car and get it scanned. The code should be stored.
