This is just annoying more than anything, I guess I should ask first off, is the hatch window designed to pop all the way open when you depress either button or turn the key? I have to push the button or turn the key, and simultaneously pull up on the hatch to open it (or at least in the next second or so). It is a 2001 Aztek. Like I said, it isn't a huge problem, just sort of... annoying.
Thanks!

And a very common problem especially when the weather is below 50 degrees. Check out the posts at www.aztekfanclub.com and you'll see it's not uncommon. There have been cures from making sure the rubber stripping is not sticking to auxilary springs on the latch to new struts to adjusting the rubber buggy bumpers under the hatch. I've learned to live with it leving in Cleveland, Ohio

There is a new procedure for fixing this problem. GM came out with a TSB on it, it has several adjustments to do, I have done one so far with no further problems.

I just backed the bumpres out two or three turns and it seems to have fixed the problem.
