No Cooling Fans

HELP !!!!
I have a 24,000 mile 92 SE, that now has no cooling fans or ac clutch action.I've changed the coolant sensor at the thermostat. The thermostat is brand new. I've checked the fuses and relays at the underhood panels and at the dash panel. If I unplug the coolant sensor at the thermostat the fans work but I get a service engine light and the darn thing runs really cold blooded. I understand that somewhere else is located an additional fan switch but I can't find it....help

hey i dont have an answer only a question wheres the coolant sensor located? and how bout the thermostat? and i didnt know there was a fuse located in the dash for the fan...to my knowledge i dont think there is i have a 96...

On my 92 the thermostat is located in the goose neck mounted on top of the motor. You can find this by following the top radiator hose to your engine. The sensor screws into the side of that gooseneck. Your may very well be different since it is a diff year. Good Luck

I understand that somewhere else is located an additional fan switch but I can't find it....helpif you unplug the coolent sensor and fan works it means sys is ok just make sure has one galon antifreez start eng and wait for the temp reach 225 or so and you done

oh really? do u have the 3100 engine? if so there the same i think...im having the same problem as u i think i ordered the chilton so when i figure it out ill be glad to let you know

Excuse me for sounding doubtful but isn't 225 a bit high. I understand that the thermostat opens at about 198 so shouldn't the fans kick on about then. Or better asked, At what water temp do the fans normally kick on?

Thanx!ALL gm cars runs on high temp so 225 is normal temp

I have the same problems. I have replaced the Coolent Temp. sensors, Relays, (there is no fuse) and have rigged up an alligator clip with 12 volts to test the fan. The fans work, but the shop says that my PCM needs to be replaced. Kinda spendy, but it might be the root to your problems too! Good luck.
