IROC or z28emopunksucksnuts 04-29-2004, 12:30 PM what has a more powerful engine, a 82 camro z28 or an 87 camaro IROC. i need to know before i descide which car i want to buy... nick 69WiLdcaT 04-30-2004, 05:44 PM what do they have in them...? i mean... the names don't go very fast but if i had to choose between the two.. i'd go with the IROC MrPbody 06-11-2004, 09:09 AM The '87 had a 350 in most IROCs, and the early Zs were all 305s. What does this have to do with Pontiac, except they're wannabe TransAms? koeb$ 06-16-2004, 11:42 PM HAHAHAHA yea i agree but go iroc, thats as close as they came to ws6 73455transam 07-01-2004, 09:09 PM Yeah, I think that you got Pontiac mixed up with th bowtie. I say that you should go with neither and get a Trans Am. Even just a Firebird would be better. BleedDodge 07-02-2004, 01:52 PM They're the same car. I woke up in someone's car drunk before, and I thought I was in a Firebird. It was a Camaro. They are so closely designed. 73455transam 07-02-2004, 05:43 PM They are closely designed, but the Firebird sometimes has a slightly better looking exterior. Besides, the Camaro is just a poor mans Firebird. BleedDodge 07-03-2004, 04:14 AM ...In your opinion, that is. I think if you could afford a Camaro, you could afford a Firebird as well. chevynutss 07-27-2004, 01:05 AM OK....If it is a stock IROC it will either have the 210 hp 305 TPI with either a 4 speed auto or a 5 speed manual. In 1987 they decided to put in the 350 TPI, but you could only get the 4 speed auto unless you wanted to get a 1LE without radio or A/C. The 1982 Z-28 had hardly any power, but the good thing is that it is carburated. If you did a engine swap it would be alot easier on the 82 than on the 87 because of all the electric crap....I would go with the 82 and drop in a built 355 with a 4 speed manual. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
