custom turbo manifoldmeet07 04-26-2004, 12:57 PM im making a turbo manifold for my 90 prelude si and i was wanting to place the turbo flange in front of the 2nd runner to the passenger side. is this ok to do b/c i've seen the drag manifold for the 4th and 5th gen's et-up the same way??? im doing this to clear the alternator but i dont want to hurt performance thanx Tranzlogic 04-27-2004, 05:41 PM are you making this yourself ? Be cautious when doing this ! You need to TIG weld this manifold not home made or midas brake shop MIG weld. What kind of steel are you using ? You dont want this manifold cracking or even blowing a weld on you. meet07 04-27-2004, 11:39 PM let me refrase myself. im getting the mani... made from a local welder. yess im getting it tig welded b/c i no from experience that the mig doesnt hold up. i just wanna no it it would be ok for the flange to sit where the 2nd runner to the passenger sits?? Tranzlogic 04-28-2004, 11:51 AM your gonna want your turbo postioned at the base of the manifold to allow for maximum flow ! but im gonna assume that this is what your doing just at the bottom by where the 2nd runner is right ?? if that is the case then yeah, i dont see any problom with that, altho im not an expert on the older ludes. meet07 04-28-2004, 06:31 PM well the setup would work for all cars its just i have the option of tilting the turbo which means tilting the t3 turbo flange which i dont want to do or move it toward the passenger side a little. i no it may mess up the flow but im not sure if it would mess it up that bad?? Tranzlogic 04-29-2004, 05:00 PM when it comes to forced induction every little bit helps ! why do you want to position it so oddly ? are you tryin to make room for a/c or something ? because its gonna be hella easier for plumping, exhaust and so forth if you had it planted verticle meet07 04-29-2004, 11:15 PM im doing so i can clear the alternator. im pretty much making it look exactly like this one on this web site. http://www.acbcpowdercoating.com/ceramic/sample/TTI.gif cheack it out YellowITR479 04-30-2004, 08:22 AM WWW.full-race.com I know they have manifolds for B18's they might have some pic's for your application vtec92civic 05-15-2004, 10:06 AM something tells me that's a pretty crappy design, but we won't know until you get it done and post up about it. usually you want the turbo in the center some place. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
