97 camry brakes??

hey yesterday my friend grabbed my steering wheel and i jammedo n the brake hard to stop and afterwards i noticed that at speeds around 5mph if i press the brakes they make almost a grinding sound or like the pads dont sound right and when i apply presseure on the brakes while driving they feel different. what would u guys suggest is the problem and how to fix it

You might have screwed up the surface of the pads. Take the pads off and rub them gently on some medium sandpaper that is sitting on a flat surface. Just enough to take off the glaze. Maybe that will help.

While you have the pads off, check the surface of the rotors.

If the pads are almost gone, you can just do a brake job and forget it.

Buy a Haynes manual or (more bucks and better detailed) a Toyota manual. Brakes aren't something to learn about from a guy who doesn't like to type... :)

Yeah, you'd probably be better off learning about your brakes from a manual. They're not really that hard to explain, but better to be safe than sorry.
