I'm having a problem with the cruise control. When on the highway, turn it on, it stays on for about 2 seconds, and then kicks off. Can someone tell me how to fix it, or what the problem might be? I have already taken the switches apart underneath, and they seem to be working just fine.

Thank you

check vacuum hoses, there might be a pinhole in the hose, I can't tell you where it is cause I haven't had that prob in the aurora but I have had the problem in other cars and the vacuum hoses were it.

hey try this idea i got from this other aurora forum that worked for me...get up to at least 45 and use the top of your foot to pull up on the brake and hold it then try the cruise control...i did this to my car 95 aurora and it the cruise came on..first time in forever!!...i'm afraid to drive it with the cruise on because if the switch is bad it might not go off..but its a good way to figure out whats wrong!!.the switch has gone bad by the brake pedal that turns off the cruise when its on...hope that helps...i'm looking on trying to fix it..any ideas would help about that switch if anyone has fixed this problem cause I guarantee i'm not the only one with this problem on the 95!!

I had the same problem with my 92 Bonneville SSEi. It appeared to be related to the torque lock. On the Bonneville, the torque converter would intermittently not lock up. The cruise would only work when the the torque converter was locked. I could tell by looking at the tach. when locked, the tach was fairly steady accelerating or decelerating.

I have the same problem now with my 95 Aurora except I doesn't even catch for 2-seconds. I don't know if this is your problem, but it sounds similar.
