compressor operation

Hello,
I'm really enjoying my Montana, but there's something I'd like to change.

What can I do so that I don't need the keys in the ignition to run the compressor?

Thanks,

Chicco

You shouldn't need them in the ignition to use the compressor. Mine works just fine without the key.

perhaps tmorris doesn't have a 2001 model? I don't know why yours works and mine doesn't, but the owners manual, stickers inside the van, and personal experiments all agree - the key must be on for the inflator to run in my van.

If anyone is interested, I have come up with a simple solution to make the compressor run when I want it to. It requires about 10 cents in parts, a soldering iron, some patience, and the willingness to deal with anything that happens if it doesn't go according to plan.

I melted the (presumably not cheap) 10-minute timer module figuring this out. :banghead:
Then I fixed it for free with some scrap parts I had lying around. :cwm27:
Then I came up with my 10 cent solution. :thinkerg:
