i have this 92 cavy, shes my baby but she wont shift out of park when running...starts fine in neutral, shifts through all the gears when running but wont leave park if i let go of the button on the shifter....IM LOST

The button on the shifter is there to prevent you from shifting into park when running or severe damage to the transmission will occur. To shift out of park step on the brake pedal depress the button and shift to the disired gear.

got it fixed, had to disconnect the solenoid that locks the shifter when its running, the break was pressed and the solenoid was busted thats why it wouldnt shift
