Best years for 93-9? RX-7s?2of9 04-20-2004, 07:29 PM What are the best or most reliable years of the Rx-7? My friend says the 95's are...but not quite sure? which year is it? Oh yea...im think about buying an Rx-7 in the future...what are the CONS and PROS about this car? or just give me a useful site...thanks jramosrx7 04-22-2004, 12:17 AM Hi I'm the original owner of a '93 RX-7, bought new in Aug '92. I have 117K miles on it with an engine rebuild at 78K miles. The stock 13B-REW puts 225 at the rear wheels (255 at the flywheel). I do 337 rwhp (about 380 at the flywheel) with many mods. At the outset, due to teething problems, I would agree that the '95 would be the most reliable of the 3rd gen RX-7. However, enough years have passed that anything that might have been wrong has gone wrong, and has been repaired. I'd think that any 3rd gen RX-7 with more than 50K miles is as reliable as any other, '93, '94 0r '95. A couple of excellent sites to check out for good info: http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/ http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette/ Any questions, please feel free to email me. 0110-M-P 04-26-2004, 07:47 PM All of the FD RX-7's have the same motor and everything, so one is not more reliable than another. The few differences in the year models include, passenger airbag for 94-95, more durable interior pieces for 94-95, and reinforced wheels for some 94 and all 95. I have a 1993 as my sig. suggests and the onlything i like on the newer models over mine is the interior pieces. 0110-M-P 04-26-2004, 07:50 PM Oh yeah, meant to comment...www.scuderiaciriani.com is a great sight. I also suggest www.rx7club.com for any other questions you might have. Just use the seach button and you can find pretty much anything as it has all been discussed. Soyo 04-26-2004, 09:09 PM wow 2 noobs that aren't all about the rice, good deal!! 0110-M-P 04-27-2004, 01:44 PM Well I may be new to this forum but not to FD's or other rx7 forums. I have had my FD for over 2 years and have 650+ posts at www.rx7club.com in the past year. It sucks how coming to new forums means your a noob, haha. but i guess everyone has to do it. Thanks for the anti-rice comment by the way... M-P Soyo 04-27-2004, 05:45 PM not a problem, props on the car, it looks nice... so your selling her and getting a skyline?? 0110-M-P 04-28-2004, 09:02 PM So far thats the plan, rebuilding motor, sell car, order R32 GTR from Motorex. I got the motor completely torn down yesterday and started cleaning stuff yesterday. So far I have cleaned both rotors and the front rotor housing. Tommorow I will finish the main part of the cleaning (Rear rotor housing and side housings), then friday bring all the parts to a good parts washer I have access to, to get any extra stuff out of the crevices. Then Sunday I will sit down and rebuild it nice and slowly and go from there. My progress is being recorded here.... http://m-psphotos.fotopic.net/c165716.html Any comments are welcome... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
