Complete Exhaust System
1987-91 TURBO II

Part Number: 16425
Retail Price: $789.00

1987-91 TURBO II Complete High Performance Exhaust System*

This is the ultimate exhaust for any Turbo II RX-7! Let your turbo breathe to it’s full potential with our “turbo-back” complete exhaust system.

The Turbo II High Performance Exhaust system incorporates a 3.15-inch (80mm) down pipe from the turbo outlet that mates to a presilencer section. From the head of the Y-pipe two 2.375-inch (60mm) pipes extend to the ceramic wool-packed 409-stainless steel rear main mufflers. The bolt-on exhaust system increases horsepower approximately 32% - a 59 HP increase on a 1987 Turbo II RX-7!

The Turbo II High Performance Exhaust system reduces exhaust gas back pressure significantly, thereby allowing the un-assisted turbo boost pressure to increase to 10-11 psi. Our Fuel Cut Controller (part No. 11570 or 11571) is required to prevent fuel cutoff to the rear rotor above the factory pre-set limit.

This bolt-on system uses the stock mounting points for ease of installation. Each system is supplied with all necessary mounting hardware and gaskets (does not include turbo outlet gasket). The down pipe section is provided with a position for the oxygen sensor.

We also offer individually the components comprising the Turbo II Complete High Performance Exhaust system for those individuals wishing to build custom exhaust systems for their specialized applications. (See the following items in the section menu.) Note: The components in this system are not interchangeable with any stock or other Racing Beat exhaust components.

*Legal in California only for racing vehicles which may never be used upon a highway.

the isurance company is giving me either 75% or 80% of the damage, plus I get to keep my car, and I have someone wanting to buy it for 800 bucks already, so I should end up with about 3 grand or so

yea, I'm pretty well satisfied with the conclusion of it all, now if Jims would just e-mail me back... errr... lol he seems to be a busy guy so I'm not too worried about it, hopefully he didn't sell it this weekend because someone was supposed to be looking at it. if he sold it I'm gonna cry... then have to drive my wrecked car till I find a another good deal, which its not usual to find one as good as hes giving me! anyways enough of that... more people need to give me opinions and exhausts!!

the racing beat one seems to be the best choice to me. If I had a turbo II I'd pick that one.

Why would boost go up to 10-11 PSI?!? The wastegate shouldnt allow that to happen with just an exaust system not to mention your risking detonation because your not adding any fuel. Correct me if im wrong here but wouldnt a RB exaust blow up my motor?

it says you need the FCD right there... so you would be getting more gas, any questions?

I know about the FCD but the factory computer isnt programed for fuel output for more boost... after 8 PSI it doesnt add anymore even with FCD... FCD just allows you to boost up without the fuel cut but you still need to give it more gas at the higher boost level by chipping or using a piggyback (or standalone if you have the money). But i dont see why an exaust alone would increase boost... yea id make it EASIER to increase it because less back pressure but if you didnt have a boost controller on your car then 10-11psi would be a failure of the stock wastegate. Of course i may still be wrong but thats what it seems like to me.

well it probably means it fluctuates up to 10-11 psi in certain rpm ranges maybe... but without a boost controler I'm thinking it wouldn't be a stable amount... I don't even know if thats possible but thats what I picture in my head haha

Super busy - Getting Ready for the Rotary Revolution lots of little things to do. Car is ready except I am STILL waiting for the hood to come back from paint. Plus driving ..err.. towing the FC 1200 miles is no small task. I am making sure trailer and truck is up for the trip.

In all honesty I paid over 3K for the car not running. Remember it has a full Mazdaspeed suspension in it including sway bars with serial 3's from Mazdaspeed on them. The suspension alone on this car cost over 2K to put in.

It has a VERY rare catback on it. Its a Trust/Greddy system that is not made anymore and trust me it sounds sweet. Very low and quiet. I like it a lot. I was tempted to put it on my TII. But I love my N-1 too much.

We fixed the brakes and I plan on driving it for another week or 2 after the RR. Then selling it mid-May.

I also has a RB downpipe and a Bonez mid-pipe on it. Lik eI said its a well done car that needs some cosmetic TLC. I am taking care of 90% of the mechanical issues. I have been driving it locally and it runs strong.

We will do a compression test when I get back and see for sure if the engine is good.

Stand by.

stop telling people about this! its our little secret from now on ok? lol e-mail me with any updates your get Jims... keeping you N1 and leaving the dual exhaust on it is musix to my ears... I better start working 7 days a week so I have plenty of money haha

just got a letter from the insurance company about my car, they are paying 70% of the damage and letting me keep my car with the original title, not salvage... dang what a deal I got out of that... trip to the junkyard for some body parts, then a trip to a buddies garage and she'll be nice and ready to sell :)
