1998 rear cup holder

I just bought a 98 Intrigue and the rear cup holder will not stay closed. I found a metal clip under the holder but don't see how it would work to keep the holder shut. Any diagrams or words of advice as to how to keep it up? Looks like the last owner used duct tape and I would like to avoid that.

I have the same problem and i havent came up with a solution, just that your best bet will be to go to a junk yard and replace the broken parts.

I have the same problem and have not yet figured out how the clip is supposed to be attached. Any luck in figuring out how this works.

I recommend that you don't drive your Intrigue until this cup holder situation is rectified.

So you use your rear cup holder instead of the front one while driving? Or is the front one broken also?

i fixed my wifes,there is a piece that has broke off that holds the clip in place, so i fould the piece that broke off and glued it on and then used a then metal stap and bolted it over that to hold it in place.
