1992 2.3L Rough Start and Oil in Throttle Body

Hey guys, first time posting, any help would be great

I just recently bought a 1992 Ford Ranger with a 2.3L engine that
isnt quite big enough for the truck, due to that it sits on 33" tires
and doesnt have the correct gears. I have a couple of problems.

First problem:

Having a hard time starting the truck after it sits for a few hours.
I usually have to pump the gas a few times, turn the truck over,
and pump the gas til it seems to idle on its own.

Things I have done to try and resolve the issue: Replaced spark plugs
and wires, replaced fuel filter, cleaned the K&N Air Filter, check intake
hoses. I have also tried playing with the idle a little bit to see if that
would help also.

Second problem:

I took off the intake hose going into the throttle body and noticed
that in the throttle body there was oil, it wasnt something I have ever
seen. What could be causing this? Could this be a problem of why my
truck doesnt have as much power as maybe it should (other than that
I know it needs gears).

Any Help would be great! Thanks in advance

Pictures of my truck are posted in link below

bad pcv valve, otherwise sounds like this motor is gunked up really bad. Get a can of sea foam and let the motor suck the sea foam up through the booster vacume line, and if it does not kill it shut off the engine and let it sit for about 20 minutes, start it and beat the piss out of the motor until the exhaust is clean. Then get a pint of Marvels mystery oil and put in the tank it will get the rest of the garbage cleaned out.

Thanks Chevyman, I actually went out and bought a new PCV valve yesterday and installed it this morning, I still havent noticed any difference yet. But i'll try your other steps. Question: Which line in the booster vacume?

Question: Which line in the booster vacuum?
I think he means the the Vac line that goes to the power brake booster.

Hey Dan, your ranger have a Auto Trans?, just wondering cause my 88 started running like Shit/ hard to start and I was getting oil in the throttle body...... or what turned out to be Tranny fluid. The Vacuum Modulator valve on the trans had a leak in the diaphragm which let fluid be sucked into the vacuum port. The modulator valve was like 8 bucks from the tranny shop down the road and was an easy fix.. once I fingered it out that is!.
