Cheap Easy Civic ModsMunG35 04-15-2004, 03:07 PM What would I be looking at in order to get some very cheap... Sub $100 to increase the performance on my 95 Civic DX.... (only 102hp/98ft-lb tq) Is there anything.. like I have seen resistors that claim to add 20 % hp and shit like that... any of it worth it? :eek7: Any recommendations to get better accelaration on the civic? Plz post yur :2cents: and let me know. Thanks. Beastiek2 04-15-2004, 04:35 PM need alittle more cheese then that cheepest mod - intake mycivic 04-15-2004, 04:55 PM Here is my :2cents: ... I/H/E are probably the cheapest but not much of a difference. :2cents: Or Swap. :2cents: snowman2005 04-15-2004, 05:47 PM intake is all ur gona get for 100$ integrasedan 04-15-2004, 09:26 PM intake is the most bang for your buck. Ricochet 04-15-2004, 09:54 PM You could go on ebay and get an vtec EX head for like 20hp.. That's not including installation by a shop though. wheel1856 04-15-2004, 10:42 PM get a shorty pipe, throttle body spacer kit, and see what you can do about injectors/rail from an ex out of a recycler. if you shop around and install yourself, you might be able to pull off greater air intake velocity with a greater fuel flow to boot. the exhaust can handle it, but I would start savin for a freer flowin cat and back. my $.02 snowman2005 04-15-2004, 10:47 PM getting different injectors or fuel rail wont do shit unless u go big power liek turbo. ur injectors put out enough fuel as it is wheel1856 04-15-2004, 11:32 PM bigger injectors from an ex combined with the increase in air flow from a short pipe/CAI and throttle body will allow you ECU to pump the fuel your sensors are asking for. if talkin about turbo, then you need after market rails that can pump a silly amount of fuel per second at the right level of boost. he wants cheap, quick and easy, he has a DX - he can get the flow rate of an EX into his DX - adding 10HP at 3-4000rpms and 15HP at 5000+ rpms by adding a pipe, throttle body spacer (maybe even a larger sprocket if you have the coin) and an EX rail to meet the ECU demands did you read the post? who said anything about a bigger fuel rail? who said aftermarket 4 bagillion gallons per second fuel injector/rail? I said EX rail to meet the increased air flow, unless you just want a pretty sounding extra 2 HP in the upper half of the power band from the intake you slap on. sheesh no creativity anymore, swaps and turbos, swaps and turbos...where's the art? (btw snowman, im not tryin to flame, tax day, you understand, sorry) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
