B18A1 Swap info~~~need badThugginCivic 04-15-2004, 07:40 AM i want to swap a b18a1 from a 1990 integra into a 1993 civic cx. what changes to wirings and mounts need to be done civicHBsi91 04-15-2004, 09:30 AM you need a 93 and up b18 it'll be alot easier and legal GScivic7 04-15-2004, 01:51 PM he needs a 94 and up B18B. 93 was still OBD0 and cable tranny I believe. If you swap in a cable tranny into your car, you need to buy a hydro to cable conversion kit. civicHBsi91 04-15-2004, 01:59 PM not all motors 94 and up are b18b's GScivic7 04-15-2004, 02:03 PM he said he wants a B18A1, the B18B is the same motor basically. If he said he wanted a B17A, then I would have said B18C1. But it's apparent he wants an LS motor, not GSR. civicHBsi91 04-15-2004, 02:05 PM b18b is more powerful than a b18a its the same but different, hence the letters.. GScivic7 04-15-2004, 02:14 PM uh, no, the 90-91 B18A is less powerful, but the 92-93 is rated at the same 140 hp and 126 lb/ft of torque. the 90-91 was rated at 130 hp with 121 lb/ft of torque. The different letters is because they are a different generation and have minor adjustments made to them. ThugginCivic 04-15-2004, 08:51 PM what changes to wiring whould have to be done if i were to go with the 94 engine and tranny GScivic7 04-15-2004, 09:11 PM none to the wiring just need to get the right ECU to run it. civicracer06 05-13-2005, 12:08 AM So if I have a 93 civic and had a real cheap way of getting a entire 91 integra with a B18a the only the thing extra i would need would be the cable conversion kit civicracer06 05-13-2005, 12:11 AM The cheapest cable conversion kit I could find was $200 does anyone know of any cheaper 93dxls 06-16-2005, 11:55 PM as a matter of fact i am in the process of doing the same swap in a 95 dx you do need the cable to hydrolic conversion also different mounts also you might want to get a 94 and up intake manifold the sensors are in a different spot the only difference is that i am going with a jspec tranny which has shorter gears than the ls tranny and b16 pistons to rais the compression. keep me posted on how yours is coming along CivRacer95 06-17-2005, 12:51 AM Two years ago your advice would have mattered to the guy. Please don't bring back old/dead threads. Thanks in advance. 95hatch 06-20-2005, 12:30 AM I have a 95 civic hatch with a b18b1 swap i did myself....you dont need the hydraulic to cable conversion kit.....just run the damn cable and put the teg clutch pedal in. my engine if from a 95 teg. the tranny is from a 92 teg... the tranny was cable and the speedometer was also cable....just run cable.....but if you want to spend the 200 on the conversion kit and anywhere from 250-375 for motor mounts that say they are for the swap....but they end up not even workin....you have to drill different holes in the mounts(personal experience of a friend)....conclusion.....i spent $12 to do my swap...and that was for a chilton's manual. there were only about 4-6 wires that were different between the 95 integra and my 95 hatch cx.....except for the ecu(my ecu is a b18a1) but it runs.......if you have any questions bout your swap, ill try and help you....im not the smartest about this swap...but my car runs and i havent had any problems sykopathicklown11@hotmail.com vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
