backfire probBOOTY023 04-13-2004, 09:32 PM so i bought this crx off this kid and the mototr he put in it is a d15b1 he told me he also swapped the distributor. i dunno what its from but he told me the swapped one will advance the timing. so...... the car backfires, usually after letting the engine wind down. how do i solve this? its obviuosly rich so would regapping the plugs work, or even a fuel pressure regulator? shit i dunno :dunno: snowman2005 04-13-2004, 10:14 PM do u have a cathalic converter or are u runnig almost straight pipe snowman2005 04-13-2004, 10:18 PM check the spark plugs the timing and mayb a compresion test. the distributor might be installed worng. Tranzlogic 04-14-2004, 11:47 AM even if there is a factory CAT on there, that is not to say that it has not been gutted !? But I am gettin the feeling that the problom is this distributor that he added. Go with snowmans advice. dont worry about a regulator, thats not your problom BOOTY023 04-15-2004, 12:25 AM pretty sure its just a resonator cause its small and its about halfway under the car, no where near the collector. Tranzlogic 04-15-2004, 01:22 PM looks like its time for an exhaust mod ! or maybe one of those famous tranzlogic homemade driveway repair specials lol vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
