just picked up a new remote for my 99 grand cherokee. does anyone know how to program this thing. the dealer wanted 40 bucks for the remote and another 30 to program it. no way!

I'm not positive but I think your going to be out 30 bucks. Has something to do with the computer in the jeep. Don't know what you paid for the remote, but to get one for 40 from the dealer seems pretty cheap. I got one from ebay for my 95 and it cost me 42 with shipping.

You will need the two original remotes in order to program your new one.

thanks for the feedback. I got mine from ebay for 11.50, can't beat that even if it doesn't work. He's also sending program instruction with it. I guess I'll see what happens. THX

Yeah man $40 isn't too bad, I had to get an extra key and clicker for my '04 GC and it was like $90 or more, but unless you can find instructions on the internet or something, I think your gonna have to pay because they know how to do it, and you don't wanna screw around with it and mess something up on your car that would cost more to fix.
