Finally got some pics of the hatch up.....before the swap happens......just need to sand the rotors, drums, calipers and then paint them black and also paint the wheel wells black.....put in JDM style black housing headlights, black upper grill and then it's ready for the new engine....

i will be posting pics at my yahoo group space after the swap/suspension changes happen and probably some before and after picts with the work on the rotors/drums/calipers...also probably will do a before and after for the front end too....

any thoughts on the tail lights.....it's a custom thing i did....i dig it......it's at least different......apologies if i should be puttin this in another forum....sometimes i b :smokin: too much.....mc

I can see it and I don't like it. I hate pretty much all aftermarket taillights except the red/clear ones.

thanks for the honesty GScivic7......i thought about the red/clear ones....but i wanted to incorporate some black into the tails and i didn't like the "smoked" look....to each his own i guess.....

snowman...thanks g....right now i have the shite stock D16Y7 in there...the transmission is almost dead....so i can't really drive it.....i just have been re-working the exterior while waiting for the swap to happen.....

my 97 JDM ITR is paid for and will be swapped into her in 3 weeks....can not wait.....mc

yea dont like aftermarket light to much either but those i would buy very nice

slam it, throw a front lip on there and you'll have a pretty nice car. I think the lights look alright with your slips on there. CF lip???

I don't like the chrome halo's, nor any kind of eurowhatever tail lights. Nice rims though.. I was pretty close to getting a silver hatch, but all they had was a CX. I got the black DX..

GScivic7....alright i'm gonna drop her about 1.75" and use a camber kit, because i've heard that handling goes to shite after that even with the kit...

would you drop the front 1.75 and the back 1.5 or go the same with each??....i'm gonna be using the TEIN Flex coil-over system...

you know i started liking the lights a lot more after i got those rotas on there too.....probably will work even better if i can take the window tint a couple shades darker....

i was thinking about a CF lip....do they make them for the stock bumpers? do they have them for front and rear?....having that black-ish colored lip on the front and back might help tie in all of the black accent stuff on the ride.....thoughts appreciated.....thanks as always...mc

rico.....thanks on the rims.....those chrome headlights are history....they totally suck and they look cheap as hell too.....i am putting black housing JDM CTR style in there next.....

Different-colored lips and bodykits, whether cf or not, are ricey. If your car was black it wouldn't be bad but on silver.. not seein it man. If you like it go for it though.

as for dropping it, the best way is to measure from the center of the wheel to the fender on all four corners. The get the coilovers on there and drop them however much you feel like is right, but make sure that all four corners have the same measurements after you drop it. After a few weeks you may want to re-measure and raise the coilovers up a bit because after the springs settle it'll probably a little bit lower than what you want.

I like the contrast of a CF hood and/or CF lip on other than black cars, but when you get the sides and rear lip, that's when I feel it needs to be painted.

Not to push the jdm craze, but you can buy painted ctr front/rear lips on ebay or the classifieds section for like $50 each and look a hell of a lot cleaner than most bodykits.

listen if your thinkin about doin a conversion DO NOT DO RX-8 tail lights there takin my bro is the first one wit them ever on a civic because hes the one wit the patent on it so no one else could do it... otherwise idk what kind of tail lights you want... just lettin you know that idea has been takin
