I've got a Lumina that keeps blowing the power door locks fuse. The fuse aslo is for the interior lights also. The fuse will blow as soon as I stick a new fuse in the fuse box. Anyone ever have this happen or have any ideas on how to fix it????????????

I have a similar problem (93) - I noticed it when my cigarette lighter quit working, but the fuse doesn't immediately burn out for me...it takes a couple of days to do so.

Sorry I don't have a solution for you...I would say have your wiring checked out.

Obviously there is a short in the window motor, check the ground wire make sure it is clean and tight.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Funniest reply.... evAR!!

The window motor is NOT hooked up to a 15A fuse mr. smartypants, it's hooked up to one of the large fuses in the electrical center underneath your hood. The 15A fuse he is talking about runs the dome/trunk/underhood lights, cig lighter and power door locks...

What I suggest is remove all the bulbs out of your lights (incl. mirrors), and disconnect your cig lighter (this has to be unhooked from the rear). Re-insert the fuse and see if it blows, if it does you have a wiring problem in the power door locks... If not, re-install your bulbs one-by one.... you see where I'm going here? through process of elimination you can figure ou where your electrical problem is.

Hope I helped!

excuse me?

The window motor is not hooked up to the 15A accessory fuse. That would blow the fuse every time you even thought about putting your windows down ;)

Inspite of all the ramblings, the power door lock switches themselves are notorious for failing on these cars, remove both switch panels and unplug the power door lock switches, put a fuse in and reconnect one at a time to see if/which side is bad ( front doors naturally).

Well when people that think they know everything, make themselvs look retarded by stating "Obviously, [Insert incorrect information here]",they kinda diserve it.... And this is the interent, it was meant to be funny not taken like OMGBBQ THAT GUY JUST OFFENDED ME IMMA GO CRY... Geez lighten up buddy ;)

Anyways back to the topic at hand... I had a short in the electrical system in my 1991 with the 15A courtesy fuse... What I did was do what I told you, and somewhere I must have had a bad connection becuase it solved my problem 100%
