I have a 1995 Grand Cherokee Lerado and I was removing an aftermarket cd player and forgot to unhook the battery. The car thought that it was being stolen and went into safe mode. I reset that but now my car display does not come on and when I open the drivers door there is a strange fast clicking sound comming from the far leftside corner of the dash. Also some of the lights inside while flicker while that clicking noise is going. The clicking goes away after I close the door. Since this insident the beeper that tells you that your lights are on does not sound anymore.

Thanks any help will be great

Not sure if this helps, but if you have the stock car alarm then insert the key into the ignition, turn the dash power on, and unlock your car doors using the button on the driver's side door, the one on the bottom right of the bank of switches there. Try it even if you don't think you have the alarm installed. I had a co-worker have her car die on her and her mechanic said they pulled the car alarm 'cause it was defective. She never even knew that she had an alarm. Alot of car lots install an alarm, and then charge you $600.00 NOT to take it out, and sometimes they forget to pull it out. Sometimes it pays NOT to take your car back to the dealer for the "prep" if the car is ready to drive already :)
At least most of your electronics still works...a friend of mine had her boyfriend install a new battery in her Jag and her car alarm and remote don't function anymore and I think a few other things went funky for awhile.
Please post if this works.

Try unhooking your battery again for a bit, and let the car sit and then re-hook it up and see if it will reset the system etc.. and stop all those things from happening in your car.
