HI, recently i went out looking for a new car, i have a 95 blazer right now, but i really just dont like SUVs. I love caddys and i saw a white diamond 1999 deville for sale. When i inquired the guy said it was 9000$ which is very cheap for this car but mainly because the odometer is messed up. He said the people who traded it took it to a caddy dealer for some work and they messed up the odometer and now it reads 17k actual milage unknown. Are there any common expensive problems or major problems that plague these cars even at low mileage. If so please let me know, I love caddys but i am only 20 and still in college and i cant afford to change 101 faulty northstar parts.

thanks

make sure you run the codes but if the digital dash dont work u cant do it. dont buy it find a different one that has no problems and always run the codes i have instructions on how to do it its easy . When the car is started hold down the hotter and the off buttons on the dash until it goes into the code mode let it run but have paper ready to write down the codes once it is done either turn off car or press reset. The look up codes on the internet i have printed out all the codes. 1996 and newr have obd2 older ones have obd1 i own a 1999 deville 50000 miles not one problem always change the oil every 3000 or at about 50% oil life on the digital guage and it will treat u perfect the northstar is fast too
