No Sparkmikepw 04-09-2004, 08:39 AM I HAVE A 1994 ALTIMA WITH APPROX 119000 MILES. FOR THE LAST WEEK THE ENGINE DIES OUT AFTER RUNNING FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. (NORMAL OPERATING TEMP). AT THIS POINT THERE IS NO SPARK BEING GENERATED. I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE ENGINE COMPLETELY COOLS BEFORE IT WILL RESTART. WHEN ENGINE IS COLD, THERE IS PLENTY OF SPARK. LIST OF TROUBLE SHOOTING IS BELOW. 1. CHECK FUEL PUMP. checked good 2. CHANGED FUEL FILTER 3. CHANGED ROTOR CAP/ROTOR 4. CHECKED IGNITION MODULE checked good (two different stores) 5. ENGINE TEMP IS NORMAL AND FANS CYCLING NORMAL If anyone has any suggestions it would be great! x1gary 04-20-2004, 09:47 AM I Have a 96 Nissan Altima w\ only 65,000 miles. I am having that same problem, where the car starts and runs fine for a few minutes but then it starts missing then eventually shuts off. I replaced the Distributor, plugs, and wires. The car still has the problem... If i ever get it fixed... I would post what the problem was. jserrano 05-21-2004, 01:38 PM Confirm that the camshaft sensor is working with the warm engine and check for ECU codes as well. x1gary 05-25-2004, 11:01 AM Ooohhhh yessss.... I finally got my Alty fixed. it was the crank sensor and the alternator. Something wasn't grounded right and it fried the computer. After about $400 dollars later ...its running great....i still have to drive it some more and do a lil bit more work but it runs w\ out any problems. well i hope that helps someone out... if you still have questions then just email me <x1gary@hotmail.com> vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
