X300 Jaguars are very reliable, I've never heard of any type of problem with them whatsoever. In the Top Gear Survey here in the UK the XJ has always come near the top for all round customer satisfaction and this year the X308 (1998+ XJ) won. As for wheel sizes, take a look at this (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=200931).

My advice is....dont go there. I bought a 2000 XJr that some (idiot) had put 20" Niche wheels, with really skinny Goodyear V rated tires. The ride is hard and uncomfortable, steering is heavy, brake wear is up. If I cant get 18" Breytons or BBS at a good price, I would trade my wheels back for XJR stock, with adjustment for wear.

Funny, also....these departures from stock reduce the resale value.

1995-1997 XJRs are good cars.

17 inch Fikse wheels would work well with an X300 XJR
