Are the 95 PCM's capable of detecting when the engine is missing?

Thanks

Sounds like you might need to replace your spark plugs and wires. Use factory AC Delco plugs and wires, they might cost a lot but it should probably fix you mis-firing problem. Do a search for spark plugs and you will find several other threads that speak about mis-firing. Try that and let us know if that fixes it. Good luck...

I'm just curious if the Computers in the 95's had the capability to detect misfires. I know 96 and up did because this is a requirement of OBDII.

read the manual, it says if the check engine light comes on and flashes its a misfire

When I had a worn out set of wires my 95 had codes that said it was misfiring- or so my mechanic said. I didn't have my scan tool yet. I can't recall that it was ever flashing the SES light on and off though. It's possible I just didn't notice since that light seems to be behind the steering wheel unless I tilt it up or start to turn.
