It was 10:30 on a sunday night and it was really dark. At the time that this message is posted it will be exactly an hour and a half ago. Me and my friends were going to a dance club and really could'nt decide on which club so we were driving around quite a bit to find one we liked. I was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I had two of my friends in my car.

Anyway at some point during the freeway going 91W I saw the most amazing thing. It was so amazing that I think if I would say awsome it would not even suffice to the half of it. I know some of us like to think of street racing as 1 VS 1 but no, this was like if you got the fastest quarter mile 12 second camaros in South California and they all went racing.

http://www.camarohighway.com/images/4thGen/SC2000SS.jpg

I was going 85 MPH on the 2nd Left lane in the 91W Freeway. Then on my left view mirror I see camaro lights. I hear the roar of an engine running engine speeds at redline. It blitzed by me so fast, I felt air resistance from the passing.

"Zeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmpppppppph!"
And it was gone!

Another one passes me on my right again I feel the air push from the passing of the 2nd camaro.

"Zeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmpppppppph!"
And it was gone!

To the right of the 2nd Camaro another camaro passes...

"Zeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmpppppppph!"
And it was gone!

Then another one on my left passes and right behind that one was another one in the same lane.

"Zeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmpppppppph!"
"Zeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmpppppppph!" - I noticed on the fifth car that he had a TV system in his dash.
And they were both gone!

Then on my right side again 2 more pass

"Zeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmpppppppph!"
"Zeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmpppppppph!"
And they were both gone as well!

I saw 7 camaros all racing at one time each about 2 camaro car lengths apart just go past me in less than 20 Seconds.

Then about 10 seconds later the last one passes me but gets held up by a wall of traffic. It was a white camaro in last place and got in the carpool lane trying to catch up. By the way that last car was racing I would say it was someone less experianced.

"Zeeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmpppppppph!" After about 5 secs I lost sight of it.

For about 7 minutes I dont see them. Then right before the 110 S exit ramp I see 6 of the camaros pulled over on the curb. Our guess is that one of them had a problem with their tire and everyone got out to help them.

They went so fast they were already out of their cars checking out what happened to one of the camaros and I was going 85 MPH in the carpool lane. I'm pretty sure that at least 4 of the camaros had LS1 engine with heavy modifications.

The best way to describe it is for you to imagine it this way. Picture yourself standing still motion less and the watching a car pass by you at 80 MPH right in front of your eyes and you can kinda imagine how fast these beasts where. Keep in mind also that I was going 80 MPH at least but these wolves moved like they were going 80 miles per hour faster.

Every single one of them moved in tandem like a pack of wolves in hunting season. Traffic conditions where moderate with at least 40 cars in front of me for 1 mile in length. How these 8 camaros manuevered around the cars is beyond me.

I've seen alot of street racing, but this what I have seen tonight... This is REAL STREET RACING. Not some honda racing crap. This was pure LS1 Power at it's finest. The only other cars that could have possibly stood a chance would be a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (320 HP V6 Intercooled Twin Turbo, 24 Valve Fuel Injection DOHC), or a Pontiac Firebird LS1 or with WS6.

Anyway just sharing my experiance with you. I wish I had a camera to record it.

I was doing 80 MPH and they each passed me in 2 secs. *Snap* Just like that.

I've been in a 99 Firebird at 150 MPH with my friend and based on that experience I can tell you that they were at least 10 MPH faster than 150 MPH.

Wait a minute.....aren't camaros speed limited to 155 mph?? I know I'm splitting hairs, but I'm just curious.....I'm not throwing a BS flag on this, because I could totally see something like this happening, I'm just curious.

heck even 130 they would have zipped by, but cool experience! I had a friend pass me once going 110 in 55, with me going 60 he left me like I was standing still :lol2:

nothing exciting like that happens around here or I'd join in :grinno:

No, just simply by the time you can say "One" the camaro is already behind your car and by the time you can say "Two" right after saying one, the camaro would be already car lengths ahead.

But did you count: One-One Thousand, Two-One Thousand, Three-One Thousand-ONE! One-One Thousand, Two-One Thousand, Three-One Thousand-TWO!

Or just One and Two-?

And you said you were going 80mph? And they supposedly passed you in 'two' seconds? I hope you did'nt add 80x2=160mph.... LoL

80mph faster than you should've passed you in much less than a second... not doubting you, but maybe you need to put it more clearly...

Of course I did not add 80+80. Also I did'nt count in thousands just plain numerical order 1-2.

C'mon these were camaros racing. They will pass you before you can say "Holy Sheeeeat!"

Well I would'nt exagerate saying like "They passed me in 1 second flat!". I would say UNDER 2 Secs. And by passing I mean completely passing me begining from me seing them in my mirrors to seing them in front of my car.

They definately passed me in less than 2 secs if not at least 1 second.

oh yes, i'm sure that the ONLY other cars that would stand a chance are a "Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (320 HP V6 Intercooled Twin Turbo, 24 Valve Fuel Injection DOHC), or a Pontiac Firebird LS1 or with WS6"... okkkkkayyyy? what about a 911, a z06, an sti, a viper, or any of a number of cars?

hell... i got enough friends with sub 2 liter engined cars that would pull 12 or less in the quarter mile that i could fill both hands

Well of course if you get a Murcielago or a 360 or any other Supercar then yeah you could beat 160 MPH without any real competition.

But when you can get fast cars for under $20K is really what I meant. Camaros, VR4's, Firebirds all fit in that category since they are all fairly old and you can buy them cheap. They are also some of the most popular Fbody designs for that price range.

Also no duh, a stock Z06 could smoke any of those cars as well as a stock dodge viper. But value for speed, these cars are out of most people's price range.

how did this turn into a "which car is faster" thread?

Bro if you come out to aus! You can see the australian muscle carz do there thing! they'd make those camoros look like old granny's! Even my dads peugeot would give those cars a run for there money(for a short amount of time)muhaahahah. (Ozzie blokes have e tendency to go over kill on horsepower)

mate i'm from australia and let me tell you that my stock camaro will blow away 9 out of 10 cars on the roads in OZ. I don't know what muscle cars you're talking about coz we only really have some Ford Xr8's and Holden SS's.............Holden SS's run the same engine as camaro's by the way, but you probably didn't know that. Now if you wanna compare an HSV to a camaro, well thats not a fair comparison coz look at the price difference. and even still the HSV GTO's aren't that much faster in the 1/4. you'd be fairer to compare an HSV to a corvette, but thats no contest there as the vettes are superior in everyway.

as for your dad peugeot giving a camaro a run for its money, all i have to say is...............hahahahahahahahahahahahaha          unless its pushing a sh*tload of hp and has the drivetrain and suspension mods to go with it, i doubt your peugeot would get anywhere less than 8 car lengths behind a camaro mate, let alone at top speed which is over 160MPH for camaro's.
