I left my dome light on over night and drained the battery. After jump starting it the next day I noticed right away something was wrong with my 90 lumina 3.1. When you start it up the idle goes real high, then realllly low, it dies out sometimes but most of the time plains out and is fine as long as you're in park.

When its in gear it drives fine down the road, but when you take your foot off the gas it begins fluctuating, and once died while coasting down the road. At stop signs it fluctuates hardcore and pulls the car forward at the high end, sometimes stalling at the low end.

Did I fry the computer---or some sensor??? Is this going to cost me big bucks????

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

no problem need to relearn if a scan tool not within reach just turn everything off disconnect battery for 30seconds reconnect start engine without touching throttle if starts and runs let run until coolant fan turns on then turn engine off and restart if does not run when started unhook battery again but clean throttle body bore and try again

I already tried unhooking the battery, that's just supposed to reset the brain right?

You may have fried your idle positioning sensor or the idle air control sensor

You really simply have to relearn the idle. The computer remembers the proper IAC setting for idle. If battery power is lost, so is the setting. The surging is the computer searching for the proper setting.
Disconnect the battery, then run vehicle in gear for at least 10 min.
An easier way is to take it to your dealer and have them do it with a scan tool. Only have to let it get to running temp. so shouldn't cost much.
