GSR vs LSkornflakes28546 04-03-2004, 12:57 AM What up guys, im new to the board. Just wanted to see who you guys think would win... 94 LS automatic Aftermarket "cheap" ecu ($100) 4-2-1 Headers cold air intake Flowmaster exhaust (160k miles) vs MY 01 GSR cold air intake full apexi cat-back exhaust (65K miles) almxdupintegra 04-03-2004, 01:51 AM GSR would take it as long as the driver knows how to race. integralover 04-03-2004, 01:56 AM i've beatin a couple of gsr's, must have been the driver. and i don't drive auto. but never underestimate an ls.:grinno: Crippy 04-03-2004, 01:36 PM that bottom end torque of the ls will get overwhelmed by the top end of the gsr if the drivers are equal .... my friend beat me when i first got my gsr in his ls , but i missed 3rd gear , but i spanked that ass by like 6 cars every run since then .... he can only HANG with me thru most of 2nd and i start to pull away alot !! Im not dissing the ls , but your mods prolly havent got you up to his stock hp #'s kornflakes28546 04-03-2004, 05:29 PM I'm glad to hear that I will beat him (i think you thought i was the one with the LS) Daerox 04-03-2004, 09:51 PM GSR would take it as long as the driver knows how to race. I just bought a 93 GS, but I don't know if its a GS-R. On the back it says Type- R, but I don't know. I was looking to see if the engine said 1.7 litter because the GSR is 1.7 instead of 1.8. Anyone know how to know for sure? integralover 04-04-2004, 03:35 AM a properly moded ls can take a stock gsr depending on the driver of the gsr and the mods on the ls. I HAVE DONE IT!!!!!!! The racing chip for one makes my car think it has VTEC. at 6k rpm's it gives alittle more fuel to the mixture. integralover 04-04-2004, 03:38 AM that bottom end torque of the ls will get overwhelmed by the top end of the gsr if the drivers are equal and i kninda think that when im at 3k rpm's the gsr will be at the same. our gear ratio is almost if not identical. there is no way that i'll be at 3k while they are at 7k rpm's. almxdupintegra 04-04-2004, 03:53 AM Why as for me I personally have raced against many preludes and I have spanked most of them. I have an LS VTEC with basic mods such as AEM CAI, NOlOGY wires, Aftermarket exhaust. When I have lost to a prelude I was on their rear bumper. So this is why I don't think Preludes are all that. I would prefer a GSR. Crippy 04-04-2004, 07:42 PM and i kninda think that when im at 3k rpm's the gsr will be at the same. our gear ratio is almost if not identical. there is no way that i'll be at 3k while they are at 7k rpm's. you mis-understood me , i meant that the bottom end torque of the ls inst going to be enough to save it once the top end power of the gsr hits .... and "almxdupintegra" who said anything about a prelude ?? Ace$nyper 04-04-2004, 07:44 PM I think the GSR will take this one integralover 04-04-2004, 10:58 PM that is kinda funny b/c the ls and the gsr have no torque in the lower end. we rely on our topend more than the lower. and the ls has great top end, now the gsr on the other hand has vtec to give it that extra boost as it moves into the top end. but what im trying to say is that with the mods i now have i HAVE beatin every stock gsr that i have come upon. which is about 4. and two of those know how to race. but they were stock gsr's. well one had a cai. my ls for some damn reason is really quick. more than it is supposed to be. i have a friend with a typr r and i have raced him. he has some mods but won't tell anyone what he has. he beat the hell out of me everytime, but he can't believe how fast my ls is. ZackKVtec 04-04-2004, 11:37 PM man, thats weird --- gsr's have 30 more hp than you stock, and other than that the stats are almost identical you've got a freak on your hands! integralover 04-06-2004, 01:21 AM yeah i know. :screwy:i think of it this way. 1. there are alot of bad gsr drivers in my area, or 2. i have a freak. lately i've been leaning on 2. i've heard that this can happen with cars. out of a bunch of them one will come along and the motor be perfect. this is what i've heard. but i have raced several mustang gt's and the bullit gt's also. my good friend has the bullit gt and he was shocked when i raced him, and could not pull away from me. i did not beat him and he did not beat me. wierd sh*% ZackKVtec 04-06-2004, 10:15 AM please god oh please dont let the mustang guys see this lol they are gonna shit a brick, and they aint gonna be quiet about it either! Crippy 04-06-2004, 12:21 PM the ls hits its torque peak at a lower rpm than the gsr , wich is why it will hang with the gsr thru 1st and most of 2nd ...ive never dirvin an ls in a race ... but i know gsr's need to be kept way up in the rpm's to have thier power .... it took me about a month or two to figure that out , i got my ass handed to me by some cars that had no business doing so , but o well we live and learn .... i was almost side by side with my friends type r when we raced , before i had my cams installed ... i would love to give you a good run to see your ls for myself ..... integralover 04-06-2004, 01:24 PM please god oh please dont let the mustang guys see this lol they are gonna shit a brick, and they aint gonna be quiet about it either! LMFAO, yea that is right. my friend won't stay quiet about it either. he keeps telling me how my car has a damn coffee can sound to it, and can see lits bits of rice coming out of the tail pipe. gawd i can't wait for my turbo. and Crippy, i'll be going to gainesville here in about a month or so, heard they are opening up a 1/4 mile there? see your from orlando. im in tallahassee. it might come true then. ZackKVtec 04-07-2004, 07:35 AM crippy, what cams you put in your car? Crippy 04-07-2004, 11:34 AM right now i have some jdm type r cams , a guy i know had a rhd jdm r teg , and lost his license for something ... so he decided to leave the street racing scene and parted the engine out ... i was lucky enough to catch the cams and springs before he sold them .... ZackKVtec 04-07-2004, 04:58 PM let me know how they run after you install them, ive been thinkin about getting some itr cams vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
