DVD player?Sham365 01-09-2002, 02:14 PM Does anybody have pictures of a DVD player installed in an X? I saw an X with an LCD screen a month or so back on XOC, but I haven't seen anything since. Considering the lack of installation space I wonder if it is possible to have a DVD player that installed up front seperate from the CD player...instead on an all-in-one. XXXTERRA 01-09-2002, 08:50 PM Sham, both the DVD and LCD screen will fit in the stock location. I have the Alpine model screen for my Nav system, but I know the indash DVD player will fit under the monitor. I have a few pics in the mods section of my site. Picture below is from XXXTERRA's site http://www.xxxterra.ca/images/image01.jpg Wow! That is a pretty clean setup. So the DVD player can only be used with navigational DVD's huh? But all one would have to do is purchase a standard DVD reader to place under seat and then have regular CD music drawn from the changer...right? XXXTERRA 01-10-2002, 06:56 PM The unit that I have is for navigation only, but they do offer a regular DVD player (http://ecominet2.alpine-usa.com:7777/pls/admn/item_info1a?p_item_name=DVA-5205&p_category=21&p_subcategory=70&p_main=30) . This unit is designed to be mounted in the dash and work with a monitor. I guess a standard( the style you buy for the home) DVD player would also work, but now you're talking about converting power source and vibration reduction. I think they sell those portable units that are designed for vehicles and such, but you would be limited in options. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
