Get a multimeter out and check for continuity in the wires. The wires going through the door hinges seem to have breakage/shorting issues. The elements in the seat itself could have taken a beating from the drivers posterior too. Either way they both get a lot more wear and movement than the passenger side.

Where can I get a multi meter? How much?

I think you can find a multimeter at any hardware store in the electrical dept. I can't imagine it would be to much, its not like a scantool or anything.

Appreciate it.

I think I paid $10 for my (crappy) toolbox one. All you really need though is preferably one that checks continuity- it will beep if a circuit is intact between your two probes. If you can't find a cheapo that does that, just use the resistance function. It's checking the same thing internally, just doesn't beep. Look for something other than infinite resistance.
