this guy at school has a 240sx (stock) and he wanted to race me (I just bought a 97 delso si 5 days ago, mine is also stock) But so i saw him on a road and followed him to this road everyone races on. I killed him off the line and all the way to bout 5th gear but then he started to pull on me, he woouldve won if we dint have to stop cause of oncoming traffic, but o well i think i did preatty good for only drivng stick for 5 days haha.

you guys went through 5 gears on a main road, something seems a little fishy there partner.

not a main roada side road that leads to a coast gaurd base that no one is ever on

next time when you hit 4th shut it down at about 95

:screwy: well first off i think its fishy that u got to 5th on main road.2nd what motor did he have sohc or dohc cuz before i swapped my motor for a sr20 i raced with many hondas and i maybe had a chance wit a sohc but not dohc he would pull by 2nd .then agin its all on the driver .so with that said 240sx stock are fast but we have govenors that limit us to only 115mph. :banghead: .but both motors sohc/dohc are fast

You didn't get over 100, but he beat you in 5th? What RPMs were you shifting at? Maybe that's why he took you in 5th, because you shifted too soon.

you r entirly right my friend, like i said i had only had my car fo rlike 5 days before i raced, and it was the first manual id ever drivin, so i did shift too soon into 5th, i lost all my power.

Dont bother with 5th.. you just loose speed trust me its, over drive.

haha, well yesterday i ranked up alot of wins, and also spent almost a full tank of gas driving around with my friend and his Accord (I was of course drinving my sol) Most of the racing was between me and the accord, but we raced this 1 old dude in his corvette just for kicks (we lost btw, still fun tho)

I'm sorry but if you don't know how to shift then either the guy with the 240 is a retard or he whooped ur ass and you're lying about it. My g/f has a 93 240sx and I know how to drive it and it should have smoked you fair and square wayyyy before 5th gear.

umm, his is a 91 with 200k miles on it, that might make a difference, haha

sounds like the 240sx driver was a bad driver.

240's really aren't that fast..they aren't slow but nothin that would make me want one, except for the fact that they look really tight and do have potential. I've beat stock 240's in my 90 accord with jus short ram intake, hks exhaust and springs. I think accords are under rated....they're really pretty fast, also smoked a del sol si.

oh yeh and my accord was a 90 with 250,000....mileage means nothin. Honda's run forever if u treat em right.
