I have a 95 Path/se some times the lights in the dash comes on then after awhile they go off. I remember no machanic couldn't figure out this issue. Before a body shop advise it was the lock on the rear glass had went bad and I replaced it and everything was fine but the lights are coming on and off again. I don't think it's the lock.

is it the battery light and the brake light? or what lights are turning off and on?

It's the battery, alt, and oil temp.

I'm having the same issues. 91 Pathfinder SE Manual 5 speed. 125K Miles on it.

My alternator was replaced just a little over 20K miles ago(2 years) I just recently started putting more miles on this vehicle. (it is a #2 Vehicle) What I have noticed is the brake light lights up when I am pressing brake and in 1st gear. Then turns off when shifted up into second. The last day or so, the AMP light has been coming on. It turns off and on intermittenly. When it is on my amps show 12V and when it is off it shows max 14V then as I drive on, it slowly goes back down to 12V. What could be the problem now! Alternator again? Oh and a NEW battery was put in 2 months ago. Also noticed gas mileage has deteriorated as well lately. Thanks in advanced for any help.

UPDATE - Did some more research and talked to some others online. Cleaned battery posts, and left battery unplugged for over 5 minutes to reset computer. Since having done this, The AMP light nor the brake light have come back on. Have driven 80 miles+. A friend will be doing a computer diag soon. Will update if anything new comes up.

Update #2 It suddenly came to mind that I just recently started using my cell phone charger. I have had no problems in 300 plus miles since NOT using it. it was the lighter draining the charge and the voltage regulator was working hard to keep the charge.
