So I was going to class a little past noon. As I slowed down for an upcoming redlight, a little silver car zoomed by me. I noticed it was a Carerra 4. We both caught the light which was on an incline. I was admiring his nice wheels and his good sized crossdrilled rotors.

So I take off a little quicker in normal, and wait until about 4k rpm to shift when I notice that he was just cruising. I was like AHHH damn, so I just short shift through second and third when he comes zooooooming by me. so I was like yay! :naughty:

I catch up in 3rd gear and jump ahead, then let off. I heard him get on it, so I immediately got on it. rev'ed her out to 6.5k rpm, and shifted to fourth. I pulled a tiny bit by the top of third with his nose at my rear fender.

By the top of fourth(I'm guessin around 105 or 110?), he was at my door. I got on my brakes because it was too fast already.. and he just flew by.

I was going to give him the thumbs up, but he ran the red left turn light and ran away(second time this happened to me). Oh well, lots of fun even though I was speeding too much!

I'm really surprised at the outcome, I thought he'd blow my doors off.. maybe he just sucks at shifting or something.. hrmm.


All I have is an air intake for enhanced sound.. So I'm stock.

Good kill. What year was the Carerra 4? If it was the 90'ish model you have a faster car. The newer ones are quicker though. Everytime I run into a Porsche they wanna do high speed stints w/ corners. Now that I own the EVO i'll make sure they know that I can hit the twisties too, although the lack of low end grunt will probably hurt me. I hope to meet you (Are you going to Speedway?).

He probably ran away because your 4-door sedan whooped his ass and he wanted to get home as quicky as possible and cry like a baby........good kill.

Speedway is in Fontana. It is off of the 10 freeway. I mentioned April 3rd, but if you wanna try another day, that's cool. You can run the 1/4 mile there (Please not that the track is traction limited). It would be fun for you to find out what you run, and you will more then likely beat alot of cars there.

i wish i could be in cali for a few days with car, i would love to run fatninja, or terminal velocity. but too bad you guys got crap gas ( 91 octane ) i would be making alot less power with that, and also i probrably wouldn't want to race 2000ls1z28 becuase i've raced my friends evo and sti plenty of times and from a dig, the results are not pretty.

Ah Tat II you can buy 100 octane gas in Pasadena (76 station). In short, stop making excuses and race. I wanna race your car :)

It's over $5 a gallon last time I was there. You should also be careful how much you put in, cause i've heard that you can fry your 02 sensor. It definitely helps to get rid of detonation though.

I dunno, depends on how much gas you have in your tank i'd imagine. If you are going to the track you want to only have a 1/4 tank of gas to begin with, so i'd only add about a gallon and a half if I were you.
