Powered by the V5, available in Europe for the Golf and Jetta, the Dune Beetle wouldn't be very quick turning those big tires with only 148 hp. The 1.8t, in any of its guises, would be a better choice because of its low end torque. With the adjustable suspension set to 'skyscraper' the Dune has tons of ground clearance and the chrome bumpers front and rear would give even the most aggressive sport-Ute driver cause for pause."
