My climate control started cutting off and on recently, and then just stopped working. I did some research and found the helpfull instructions on repairing the capacitor from www.macadamizer.com/bmwfix.html
but when I did the repair and popped it back in the car, I got nothing. When I unplug the computer from the car, the fan kicks on, but no ac.
I am planning on scouting the junk yards for a used one, but I have seen that these things have to be programed by the dealer or something?? Can anyone elaborate on this and is there any possible way of doing it yourself? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just finished replacing the cap and mine is working perfect so far. It was doing the same thing as yours. Did you make sure to get a non-polarized cap? .47microfarad 50volt cap is what I used. Cost 50 cents from a local electrical supply house. I also had all the other caps (about 4 or 5) checked on the board and all of them tested good. Anyway if I can help let me know.

I sent my climate control unit to the guy selling the repair service on ebay. His ebay name is ccobsinc. This guy repaired it and it works mint now.
