1990 BMW 525 Door Locksmdklek 03-24-2004, 02:10 PM Central door locking is a mystery that even the dealer could not figure out. When locking car, turning key in cylinder, the car will unlock itself, then you need to turn key again and it will stay locked. Two turns of key to lock the car each time. HUGE MYSTERY. Any ideas? mdklek 04-02-2004, 08:42 PM Anyone out there can help with this? It is the ultimate mystery. All fuses and wiring are fine. Chilton books no help. HELP! kidwired 04-02-2004, 10:20 PM mdklek 04-04-2004, 09:06 PM Thank you. The Bently repair book says the same thing. "there is a problem with the system" - which could be 12 different things. The trunk lock is supposed to operate the doors, but this is not happening. Therefore, I think I will try replacing the truck lock motor and go from there. Dealers (2) and (1) independant mechanic could not figure it out. Up to me at this point. Now I need to find the part. Not listed on Mesa or BVA or BMA. kidwired 04-05-2004, 02:06 AM lol sorry that wasn't more helpful, this is a system I am not entirely familiar w/. I have seen a few other good articles on the web that may be more useful. mdklek 04-05-2004, 01:35 PM Thank you for your replies. Bavarian Auto has the part for $175. This will be an expensive experiment. I will try it and see... kidwired 04-06-2004, 12:58 AM is it something you can get from salvage? try bavarian salvage in rancho cordove CA or double o2 in hayward (or oakland?)Ca. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
