Hi, I have a 2000 Accord LX 4 cyl. I'm having RPM problem on my ride and I don't know if its normal or not. When my engine is warm and idle, the RPM tents to go little above 500 RPM... I have several cars and non of them go below 1000 RPM when they are idle.

When I rev up the engine to about 3-4000 RPM and let the RPM drop down, it would drop nearly to 200 RPM and then the engine acts like its about going to stall, but quickly the RPM went back up to 500+... Is my car lack of gas? or air? or something is wrong with the engine?

I have OBX 4-2-1 headers (3 yrs old), Air intake kit (fairly old filter), and about 2000 mile-old syntetic engine oil. The Transmission oil is only about one month old.

Please help me on this issue, thanks :)

I have the same car and my idle never drops below 750-800 rpm when warm ( I run synthetic oil too). I would see about the TPS (throttle position sensor) or your mixture (I don't know if there is an adjuster screw but if there is then that would be the quick fix). Good luck!!!
